Raised in the Midwest, Hope McPherson has lived and worked in the Pacific Northwest for more than 20 years. After training horses for 10 years, she attended and graduated from Seattle Pacific University with a English degree (magna cum laude).
She next went on to freelancing and working at Microsoft's MSN until, in 1999, she became a communications specialist at her alma mater. Today, she writes, edits, and coordinates production of university print and online publications for on-campus clients.
She also continues to freelance in the Greater Seattle area. Projects for companies and individuals have included a book of Scandinavian immigrant stories, postcards, and brochures and ads for small businesses. Features have covered topics such as elite athletes, health (e.g., sunburn), lifestyles (e.g., arranged marriages in Seattle), and profiles of notables such as best-selling mystery writer Dick Francis, politically incorrect cartoonist John Callahan and Captain Kangaroo. First screenplay placed in top 10 of statewide competition.
